TUESDAY 24th NOVEMBER

V.I. CRICKET DEMONSTRATION

The club gave two very enjoyable and successful demonstrations at the Yorkshire Coaches Conference at Headingley on Saturday 21st November.

There were around 70 coaches at the event from right across the Yorkshire county area and they were enthralled by the cricket on show, with some expressing an interest in getting more involved with the V.I. game.

The eleven squad players who took part all gave a good account of themselves and demonstrated all aspects of our game from warming up exercises, to net practice and finishing off with a game in the middle. [Watch video footage of the day below.]

SUNDAY 18th OCTOBER

An 8-person committee was formed as follows :-

Secretary : John Garbett

Captain : Atif Rafiq

Coach : Mark Beckles Willson

Treasurer : Nick Killen

The rest of the committee is made up of Helen Pickard, Tom Conway and a representative of Old Sharlston C.C.

13th SEPTEMBER

NOTTINGHAMSHIRE TOURNAMENT

Yorkshire players have enjoyed a very good two day event in Nottingham this weekend. where they were involved in two full days of VI cricket against challenging opposition and were also able to get together on Saturday night for their first social gathering.

Matches took place against established V.I. cricket clubs in Northants and London Metros and also against a number of development teams from the northern VI cricket board.

It was great experience for our players and a chance for them to move their standard on to the next level.

The club meal on Saturday also gave people a chance to get to know each other off the field too.

Congratulations must go to one of our junior players, Max Conway, who got an award for being one of the players of the tournament.

SATURDAY 8th AUGUST 2009

WARWICKSHIRE TOURNAMENT

The team embarked on it's first trip outside Yorkshire today with a visit to the long running annual Warwickshire Tournament at Marston Green near Birmingham.

The competition also included established blind cricket clubs: Warwickshire Bears, London Metros and Hampshire, who are in their first season in competitive V.I. cricket.

The Yorkshire players excelled themselves on the day and came away with their first trophy after beating all three teams in an exciting days cricket.
